Volunteering is not recommended for those with animal allergies.
SFAHS is a busy environment with pets, cleaning supplies, and noise. Animals may jump, leave muddy paw prints, or sometimes scratch or bite. Even if you’re not handling animals directly, you’ll be near dogs, cats, and other small animals.
We do not accept court-ordered or diversion program volunteering. This includes any volunteering required or recommended by a judge, parole officer, teen court, lawyer, halfway house, juvenile detention center, work placement program, or similar.
We also cannot accommodate one-time or short-term individual volunteers. For one-time group opportunities, check out service groups!
