Soothing Shelter Animals Through the Magic of Stories
Why Volunteer? Reading to Rescues is for children ages 6–11 and is designed to help build confidence. RTR is for unsure readers and for pets who are still shy and not ready for snuggles. Children will not be handling the animals; this program focuses on quiet reading to help less-confident pets feel safe.
Shelter environments can be overwhelming but enrichment activities soothe them and lower their stress
You would be making a meaningful impact in their quality of life and their journey to finding a loving home.
