Group volunteering is your chance to:
- Handle chores and let staff focus on animal care
- Educates and inspires the community to help
- Provides enrichment and supports shelter operations
Good to Know
- Must be for businesses, organizations, or academic/athletic groups
- Available Monday - Friday, 9 am - 3pm
- Scheduled in 2-hour time slots: the 1st hour is shelter tasks, the 2nd hour is tour and animal interaction
- Tasks vary based on shelter needs including: cleaning, organizing, landscaping or stuffing enrichment
If groups would like to stuff enrichment, we ask that they supply the bell peppers. (Most groups will stuff about 50 peppers)
Requirements
- 16+ years of age
- Groups of 3-10 people
Service groups require a range of physical tasks.
Please ensure your group is a good fit for the physical nature of the program.
The SFAHS is typically unable to accommodate groups with physical limitations or those unable to perform active tasks. |
