SFAHS Goes to School
Can’t make it to the shelter?
We can come to you! The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society offers classroom visits for schools or daycares where students can learn about animal care, responsible pet ownership, and the role our shelter plays in the community.

Requirements for School Visits

• Scheduling: Visits must be scheduled at least 1 month in advance of the requested date.

• Availability: Presentations are only available Monday through Friday and depend on staff availability.

• Length of Visit: Each session lasts about 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on group size, age of students, and questions.

• Pets: SFAHS will bring  one pet if possible. All pets must be approved by school administration prior to the visit.
