Found a Pet

1. Spread the word

• Post to Facebook on local lost pets pages, NextDoor, and 24PetConnect.
• Inform neighbors in the area where the animal was found.

2. Check for a microchip

• Go to the nearest vet clinic or humane society to check for a microchip.
• Keeping the pet near the found area increases the chance of reunion.
• Please do not cross state lines.

3. Report it to your local non-emergency dispatch

4. If not reunited, then bring the pet to SFAHS

• Stray pets must be brought to SFAHS during business hours. 
• SFAHS is only able to intake animals from our contracted jurisdictions.
