How to Claim Your Animal
You will need to come to the Sioux Falls City Stray Building to identity and claim your animal, SFAHS will never have you pay for your animal via link, text or over the phone. You must come to the Stray Building to identify and claim your animal.
Holds on stray animals are determined by your local city officials and are not set by SFAHS. Please contact your local city official website to see stray wait hold times. The Stray Annex is located in the same parking lot as SFAHS: 3720 E Benson Road, Sioux Falls, SD. We want nothing more than to see your family reunited, and will do all we can to help, but understand we have limited staff and resources. Because of these limitations,
we can not promise/guarantee to contact you if an animal matching your animal's description comes in. We can only call you if the animal has tags or a microchip. Please remember you are responsible to identify and claim your pet if they go missing.
